learning is fun and participatory. Students are active learners as they converse,
solve mysteries, prepare for trips, sing, use visual organizers, summarize their
reading, ask questions, play games, and experience numerous cultural activities.

There are 4 general learning styles that most people use to comprehend a new subject:
- Auditory: learning by listening
- Visual: learning by watching/ seeing
- Kinesthetic: learning by moving around
- Tactile: learning by touching

Most students have a dominate style, and a “back up style” or a combo of two styles.
Spanish for life uses all these methods to engage learners throughout the duration
of a class.
In addition to learning styles, instructors are prepared to help students learn
Spanish for all the ways the language will be used: conversation, listening comprehension,
reading and writing. At Spanish for Life we progress towards total immersion
by increasing the amount of time in Spanish each class period. After only a few
weeks, even beginners can function in a total immersion environment.

One of the most unique and recent methods of learning Spanish is called “Teaching
Proficiency through Reading and Story Telling(TPRS).” As a student at Spanish for
Life, you will experience exciting story telling, hand gestures, drawing and re-telling
the story in your newly acquired language.
