Here's What Spanish For Life students have to say!
"Spanish for Life is the very best adult language instruction I've experienced in my adult years. I've learned French, ASL, and Spanish in college classrooms, continuing education settings, and language immersion school abroad. Holly Venegas offers a unique and positive approach that combines the most promising practices for auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Every session is filled with energetic and highly engaging learning methods, excellent materials, music, and lots of practice. I am finally speaking Spanish in conversations with neighbors and friends, and I owe it to my first semester of classes with Spanish for Life."
-- V. J. Elliott, Ph.D.
"Holly utilizes innovative instructional strategies for teaching Spanish so that it is comprehensible and lasting. As a fellow educator, I have found that the methods she uses are good practice for engaging the brain and are successful for every learning style."
-- Harmony Looper, 5th grade Teacher and Literacy Specialist
"I had taken two Spanish classes before coming to Spanish for Life hoping to learn the language. However I was unsuccessful. With your teaching style and patience, I know I will really ‘get it.’ I really enjoy how you teach and make us feel comfortable."
-- Adrienne Stengel
"You are certainly a master teacher, leaning on the Master Teacher!"
-- Dr. Rosanne Englebretson, E.d.D., Author and Curriculum Consultant
"I was just thinking today that after about a year and a half of lessons only once a week I can actually say I could communicate pretty well with the Spanish speaking population. I can even speak in past, present and/or future without too much "thought" time. These classes have helped me to be willing to try to say things even when I am unsure of 'how.'"
-- LouAnn Gubser, Interior Designer
"When I started taking the beginning Spanish class from Holly, I knew only 6 words in Spanish (and was pronouncing 3 of those incorrectly). I am now reading, talking, and communicating at the Advanced level. Some people who have taken several years of Spanish classes say my pronunciation is better than theirs! Holly is excellent at teaching people with different learning styles. In our class there was someone who learned only through auditory input, and I seem to learn only visually. Holly uses varied teaching techniques and skills to teach us at the same time. She also changes activities about every 15 to 20 minutes, so that if one activity is difficult, we can have success in the next activity. What a motivator! Also, if she feels that the entire class is not learning a concept, she will re-teach it another way until she feels comfortable that we have all grasped the lesson. I think if Holly can teach me, she can teach anyone who truly wants to work hard to learn this beautiful language!"
-- Kathi, Social Worker
"Holly's translation services are excellent. I can trust her to effectively and efficiently help me communicate written information to the Spanish speaking families of my students. I have also found it easy to communicate my requests via email, which is perfect for my hectic schedule."
-- Harmony Looper, 5th grade Teacher and Literacy Specialist
"It's impossible not to have fun in her class. Holly uses songs and stories to help you think in Spanish and moves at a comfortable pace. I'm amazed at how much I've learned."
-- Dalye Sherrill
"Holly is a great teacher and is extremely enthusiastic and fun. She explains the Spanish language very effectively and is very patient with some of us older students who haven't been in school for a long time."
